Grandpa Bob and his Sweet Ride

Sometimes we take what we have for granted ... Here's my father with his first car. He was really glad to have it. This photo was probably taken in the early forties prior to his joining the Army Air Corp. If you look real hard you can see the words "THIS IS A CAR! Do not scrap please". Now this may strike you as a bit of whimsey ... but in those days, during the early part of the war, old abandoned cars would be harvested to make tanks and ships. Dad was hoping they wouldn't take his car.
