The Living Desert Zoo and Garden

One of the great sights around Carlsbad is the Living Desert Zoo and Garden. It's a walk through a 1.3 mile self-guided tour. It has a wide variety of vegetation and animals found in the Chihuahuan Desert.

Top Photo: Brian leaping gracefully over the Mescal Pit. .... I'm not too sure what a Mascal Pit is, but the pamphlet says that its the "site of an annual special event". ... Your guess is as good as mine. .. but in gazell a like denmonstration of grace and agility, Brian made the Jump. 8 technical points and 2 style points.
